We are now excited to offer our own training programs to all health care system staff, faculty, and learners. In September, we begin with an offering of an Introduction to Appreciative Inquiry. These and all of our workshops are free; please sign up early, however, to help us with planning.
Introduction to Appreciative Inquiry
This 2-hour workshop, lead by Center for Appreciative Practice faculty, is designed as an opportunity for work teams to learn more about Appreciative Inquiry and how it might be used in their settings. Participants will receive an overview of AI at UVA, the principles of AI, and the elements of the 4-D cycle. They will also have an opportunity to conduct Discovery interviews and to begin mapping their department’s “positive core.” Participants will also learn about the resources and opportunities available to them through the Center for Appreciative Practice.
We will offer this workshop once a month. Please choose from one of the following dates and times; ideally your entire team will attend together, but we realize that’s not always possible. If your group needs to split up, that’s okay, too.
Friday, October 23 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. in Health Sciences Library room 1335-37
Tuesday, November 17 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. in Health Sciences Library room 1335-
If you would like to attend one of these introduction workshops, please contact Cathy Keefe-Jankowski.
We are also developing our own leadership program to ensure that our team members are adequately prepared to lead the Appreciative Inquiry process. So check back to this page soon, or sign up for announcements about training programs on the Center for Appreciative Practice email list.
